What is the PTA?
The OTP School Parent-Teacher Association is a volunteer group of parents and teachers who fundraise to provide our school with resources, equipment, sports gear, and expanded experiences for the students at OTP School.
Why does OTP School need additional fundraising?
Primary schools get funding for basics like salaries and operations, but not enough for all the extras like iPads and Chromebooks, art, maths and literacy resources and school trips that give our kids the best opportunities for learning.
Have you seen our amazing new junior playground? The PTA did that! PTA raises funds and the school board directs the use of the funds.
What events have the PTA run?
Our PTA are the magic behind the scenes of our school discos, Halloween events, Beats by Bingo, bake sales, cookie dough drive, sausage sizzles, and so much more! This year, our team is too small to do everything we want to do, so we need your help.
What skills do the PTA need?
We are looking for a range of skills to help us achieve our goals.

- Do you have an eye for detail or a passion for hanging decorations? We need you!
- Are you in a position to sponsor school events? We need you!
- Do you know how to approach business sponsors? We need you!

Many hands make light work!
We need parents in every year group to volunteer for the PTA.
There are many ways to help depending on your skills, social network and how much time you have to contribute. We are all busy parents, and there are flexible ways to get involved!
Currently, the PTA needs:
Core members
We meet once a month at school covering all events and work together as a team.
Event volunteers
We always need help, before, during and after events!
- Provide baked goods
- Pre-pack goody bags
- Pick up or drop off supplies
- Cook or distribute food or collect money
- Set up, decorate or pack down
Each parent only takes on what they can manage. Core members may be involved in several events, event managers may be involved in one event, event volunteers may be involved for an hour or three… It’s up to you!
